Commercial Business Fire Safety

When it comes to your business, it is important for you and everyone who works in the building to know what to do in an emergency situation. There are some simple ways to do this, like post a fire escape route, and have emergency phone numbers available. Another important way you can prepare is by having multiple a fire extinguishers available around your business. Along with having these extinguishers, it is important for everyone to know how to properly use them.

While SERVPRO of Hardin/Larue Counties hope you never have a reason to use it, here is an easy way to help remember: PASS

  • PULL the pin.
  • AIM the nozzle or hose at the base of the fire, while keeping a safe distance.
  • SQUEEZE the lever to discharge the fire extinguisher agent.
  • SWEEP the nozzle or hose from side to side at the base until the fire has been extinguished. Even after it is out, continue around the fire, and make sure all sides are completely out.

After putting out the fire, make sure to PASS the job to a professional to take care of from here. SERVPRO of Hardin/Larue Counties can handle any of your commercial needs efficiently and timely. We are able to handle not only the fire extinguisher agent, but also help clean up from the fire, soot, and smoke the fire caused. If the fire department also made a visit to the site, we can also help with any water damage that may have occurred. When you think fire, think of the green trucks, and call SERVPRO! 270-360-0448
