WINTER ROAD CONDITION WARNING!

From today through Friday, Kentucky is experiencing major winter weather in the form of both ice and snow. There is an Ice Storm Advisory throughout the rest of the week spanning into the weekend. During these days, it is advised to take extreme caution while traveling, and staying home is encouraged to prevent accidents on the roadways.

Weather.com states that significant ice and snow mixture will be hitting us during these days, and there is a large chance of both power loss and tree damage.

Throughout this week, temperatures are predicted to continue to stay low. Because of the possibility of power outages, it is even more important to prevent frozen pipes in your homes or businesses. Here are a few ways to do this below.

Garage door closed to trap warm air inside the building.

Cabinet doors with pipes should be opened to promote warm air flow inside.

Continually drip faucets inside to keep water moving through pipes.

Outside faucets should be covered with specialized covers. You can get these at most stores or online.

Open interior doors to promote air flow throughout the rooms.

SERVPRO of Hardin/LaRue Counties are here to help if you do fall a victim to a frozen pipe burst! We can make it “Like it never even happened.”
